The essential details

Perfect for…  People interested in the Pharmacy sector and want to obtain a qualification whilst gaining invaluable work experience. The Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard Course provides Pharmacy Pharmacy Support Workers with skills and competence to enable safe practice within a pharmacy. Learners, with the help of a dedicated assessor, will provide evidence of the work they do on a day to day basis.

Duration… Most complete this programme in 12-15 months so we can adjust the timescales to suit your pace of learning. However, in special circumstances this can be flexible to accommodate every learners’ individual needs.

Delivery method Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard Course for Pharmacy Support Workers– Trainees have an online e-portfolio where they can access the workbooks and submit work for assessment. Trainees also have interactive lessons via Blue Jeans (our online classroom) and video lessons. The competance criteria is assessed by evidence of practice in real work situations. This may include observation from the expert witness (educational supervisor) or a Skills4Pharmacy assessor, witness testimony, self-reflective accounts, professional discussion, questions and answers and accuracy logs. At the end of each module or topic within a module, there is a summative assessment which consists of an observation by assessor or expert witness, a professional discussion and a knowledge assessment (mix of multiple choice questions and short answer questions). This helps to prepare the learner for End Point Assessment.

All of this is included… A trainee guide to explain how the programme works, an assessor, access to your own online portfolio including a video on how to use it, e-workbooks covering various pharmacy practice and clinical topics, multiple choice questions at the end of each workbook to test your trainee’s knowledge, practical tasks and written assignments to cover the unit requirements of each qualification. Expert witness training to support the pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician acting as a workplace supervisor.

Support Once we’ve set the trainee up on their new programme, our friendly team will be in touch regularly to help them complete their programme and gain their qualification. We track progress and are always happy to help and support a trainee and Tutor in any way we can.
